How has your December been so far? Have you attended any holiday events or participated in the festivities? How’s your holiday shopping coming along?
We’ve put up all our interior decorations here, though still have to tackle the outdoor lights. Since there’s no preexisting nails, apparently it’s going to be a little more difficult than expected (or so the boys tell me). Oh well, I am really excited about our living room’s holiday decor, especially the lights wrapped around the stairs’ railing. And I admit, I’m proud of my Christmas shopping progress—this is by far the most prepared I’ve ever been, and I’m officially obsessed with Black Friday sales.
You know what else I’m obsessed with?
Harry Potter themed gifts.
These type of gifts hold a special place in my heart, which you can learn the reasoning behind in “For The Love of Potter.” Throughout the year, I “oooh” and “aaahh” at the various Harry Potter themed merchandise that regularly pop up in my social media feeds (thanks to targeted Facebook marketing, which clearly knows I’m a fan).
Some of it is a little cliché, or I wonder what in the world I would do with it. Personally, I would have positively loved to have a wand as a child when we let our imaginations run free as we rode around on broomsticks, tossed stuffed animal owls off the balcony to deliver a letter, and used wooden sticks for wands (that were previously cat toys with string attached to them). But now as an adult?
Now as an adult, I like my inner Harry Potter fangirl to be (for the most part) tasteful and sophisticated, with gifts that include a purpose and can be used/enjoyed on a regular basis. And I know I’m not the only one!
Which brings us to this holiday gift guide I had way too much fun putting together. This Harry Potter themed gift guide has a little bit of everything for your loved ones still waiting for their Hogwarts letter. (Psst, I read that more than 3 million letters get lost in the mail each year—maybe our Hogwarts letters were among those that got lost?) It has art prints, mugs, wine glasses, candles, sweaters, jewelry, and so much more!
Fun Fact: Did you know my home office is called the “HP Headquarters?” Because see, my floating desk is tucked under the stairs. The boys prefer to call it the Chamber of Secrets—and turn a completely deaf ear when I try to explain that no, it is not the Chamber of Secrets because that is a bad place in the series. Although in retrospect, I suppose under the stairs wasn’t exactly a thriving location either. Still, harmless spiders compared to Slytherin’s deadly basilisk… I think I digress from my original point. Back to the holiday gift guide!
