Have you ever felt like you would be so much more on top of everything in life if you just press the PAUSE button for a day? Because I sure feel like I’m playing catch-up every moment of every day. As soon as I get excited about completing one project, I realize five more have sprouted in my absence.
I look at some people who seem to have their whole lives together and I want to cry out “HOOWWWW?” So please excuse today’s #HashtagHumpday Confessions where I vent about what I should be doing. You know, instead of spending this valuable time actually doing those things. (Although posting is on my list of things to do, so technically I am being productive right now) I’m sure you can relate to a few of the following…
I have signed up for two blogging/social media e-courses in the past three months and completed no more than 15%… total. Yikes. Let’s fix that, especially as sharpening my social marketing skills becomes increasingly more necessary. #yestheyrehelenesecourses
NOTE: After I wrote this post, I clicked around the e-course Triple Your Twitter and wow! What a surprise to see my own Twitter account featured in one of the sections! I feel like a celebrity! So if it’s cool enough for a $$ e-course, be sure to follow along @lexbelivin
I still haven’t unpacked those boxes I told you I was going to make a priority last week. I know, I lied to you. #sorryitsnotreallyapriority
Don’t even get me started on catching up with work projects. There, we’re leaving it at that. #butseriouslyicouldgoonandon
When did it become so hard to write an email to someone? I pull up my email and get so caught up with my work emails that by the time I remember to glance at my blog ones, I’m onto the next project. I owe emails to multiple people—you know who you are. #ipromiseiwanttotalktoyou
I swear my blog in my mind is so much more awesome than this blog you see. I post five times a week, the traffic numbers are booming, and wow my social media content is so engaging, it’s like there’s a magnetic force to the follow button. No…..? Wait, that’s not the same blog you see…? Hmm. Try hitting “refresh.” How about now? Okay, hit it again. Still nothing? Damn it… there must be a technical difficulty.
In other words: Hi, my name is Lexi and I am an excusaholic. (“Hiii, Lexi”)
I could apologize like I usually do, but I think we’re all over that. This is me learning how to balance a crazy work schedule, new home, living with boyfriend, and blog. Honestly, the blog is getting more attention than other aspects of my life. I’m figuring it out and until the day where the blog in my mind appears in your web browser (have you tried clearing your cache…?), thank you for sticking with me and following along. Really though, you guys are awesome. And I promise I will make Weekly Favorites a top priority again because I admit, not cool of me to skip out on that last week. #psstexpectanothergiftcard
So let’s talk about solutions because complaining that I’m not caught up is not going to get anyone anywhere. TODAY I am going to get a little more caught up and:
- Answer my firstname.lastname@example.org emails. Not work emails, blog emails.
- Reply to the lovely, wonderful comments over the past week.
- Fix my blog button html because apparently it’s not working.
- Unpack one box. Just one.
Now that’s not so hard, is it?
